Kristen Anne Bell, born 1980 in the United States of America, is an actress and a singer. Born and raised in Huntington Woods Michigan as the daughter of Lorelei Frygier who was a nurse - and Tom Bell - a television director - she is an American actor and singer. Her heritage includes Polish (mother) and German, English, Irish and Scottish (father). Kristen was able to show a flair to perform on a young stage. In 1992, Kristen attended her first audition. The audition was for an appearance of Raggedy Ann And Andy. Bell had an agent appointed by her mother before the age 13 and she was subsequently hired as a model for advertisements on television and newspapers. In addition to taking private lessons in acting, she launched her career at that time. Bell was in a role of minor importance that was not credited to her on the film Polish Wedding (1998), in 1998. Bell was part of the drama and music club at Shrine Catholic High School. The Wizard of Oz was staged by her high school and she took home the part as Dorothy. Bell was accepted to New York City for the Tisch School of the Arts to study musical theater upon the completion of her studies. Bell dropped out of studying in the year 2001, and began playing Becky, a character from Tom Sawyer. In the same year, she had her first credit debut as Pootie Tang. Pootie Tang (2001), however her character was deleted and she was only seen in the credit sequence. In 2002, Bell was in the Broadway revival of The Crucible with Liam Neeson and Angela Bettis.
