
Teri Lynn Hatcher is the daughter of Teri Hatcher. She was born in Palo Alto California on December 8th 1964. Her mother, Esther, was a computer programmer at Lockheed Martin, and her father, Owen, was an nuclear physicist, electrical engineer and nuclear engineer. Teri studied ballet at the San Juan School of Dance and was raised in Sunnyvale, California. Fremont High School was where she was the Featherettes dance captain, and was presented with the "Most Likely To Be the Solid Gold Dancer" award. Hatcher graduated with a degree in maths and engineering at De Anza College after which she also took acting classes at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theater. Teri disclosed that her uncle Richard Hayes Stone had sexually assaulted her from the age of five. She also assisted Santa Clara County prosecutors in their case against Stone following the 14-year-old victim of Stone's committed suicide. Stone was sentenced in prison for four charges of and pleaded guilty to molestation. In prison, Stone died of colon cancer.
