AlexAlexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player plays as a striker for San Diego Wave FC (NWSL), which is the highest division of women's soccer in the United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team from 2018 to 2020 with Megan Rapinoe and Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was drafted by the Western New York Flash at number one in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her studies at Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the time and played a major role in the team's winning the league championship. Morgan was 22, at the time was the youngest player in the national team at the 2011 FIFA Women's World Cup, where the team was runner-up. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute in the semi-final match against Canada. She was second in the U.S. to score 28 goals and 20 assists for the year 2012, which made her the sixth-youngest and youngest prolific player in the United States to score 20 goals in one year. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan contributed to helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
